This piece, inspired by a Ralph Lauren ad, is based on the following poem I wrote in 1983:
Orange Loop
Monochromatic skin,
he wants me. The space
between my front teeth is (smile)
perfect. I realize that the space
between your eyes
(the hollow sockets)
is natural.
The costume is what blazes!
Relax! It's the costume,
not the face
that the moths will eat.
